Agriculture is the basic industry that produces crops and food in securing people’s lives. Sinon manages a business in crop protection and nutrition cultivation. The purpose is to enable a smooth production of crops in avoiding food hunger and to assure food safety, stimulating the aspect of a steady life for human beings. Sinon plays a pivotal role.

Modern agriculture has developed into matured cultivation technology bringing a huge improvement in the scale of crop production and quality. However, economic development causes long term natural resources depletion has led to agriculture in various countries to face some challenges, such as, Climate change, global population continues to increase, arid land, insufficient land area for agriculture, aging rural population, labor shortages, food safety, and so forth problems. In face of the aforementioned difficulties, it is necessary to introduce the utilization of modern technologies and long-term agriculture talents cultivation. Stimulates agriculture production system to shift towards sustainable agriculture transformation.

In response to the trend in green revolution, we continue to develop based on the following as our core business. They are crop protection, chemical synthesis, biological fermentation, food safety and so on. The Company is committed to its original intention of taking care of farmers and leads them in producing agricultural products that are safe, natural, and healthy. Raise agricultural values and give back to the land and society.

Promoting Friendly Agriculture／Driving Agriculture Transformation
With the goal of caring for the land in Taiwan and to create a sustainable agriculture, we respond to the government's environmentally friendly agriculture and energy-saving and carbon-reducing policies. In terms of product development, we continue to develop microbial agents and materials that are free from registration to help farmers overcome cultivation problems by providing products that withstand adversity and labor-saving management, as well as cooperating with major international agricultural companies to introduce new products. In 2022, through the technology transfer of “Photorhabdus luminescens 0805-P2R” developed by the Council of Agriculture, we developed the microbial agent, which is the first eco-friendly microbial agent for mite control in the agricultural industry worldwide. This product was awarded the “2022 Taiwan BIO Awards” - Innovation of the Year.

In terms of technology promotion, we held observation tours around Taiwan to promote the concept of “prevention is better than cure” and introduced the SN Integrated Pest Management (SN IPM) program, which uses chemical products, together with biological pesticides, fertilizers, natural registration-exempt crop protection materials and sex pheromone products to manage the entire crop cultivation period to control the effects of crop diseases, pests and weeds without damaging farmers’ economic interests, and balance the production, ecology and life.
In response to climate change, we have developed the “Sinon Agricultural Experiment Center”, a professional greenhouse system, to simulate the best environment for cultivation under climate adversity and to establish a variety of standard manuals for the cultivation of high-economy greenhouse crops to support the development of sustainable agriculture.

Deeply Cultivate Environmental Protection and Safe Culture／Shaping Workplace Health and Safety
Safeguarding the impacts of operation activities to the environment and occupational health and safety has been an issue of priority importance for Sinon since the beginning. Employees are important partners of the Company. We have prioritized creating a safe working environment and to protect the employees' health. We have also continued to prevent workplace hazards as well as save energy, reduce carbon, and reduce waste through a systematic approach in procurement, manufacturing processes and equipment.

The environmental protection results in 2022 include annual electricity savings of 2.23%, wastewater reduction by 19.8%, and annual water recycling of 1,414 metric tons. The Sinon Group introduced the ISO 14064-1 greenhouse gas inventory standard to respond to the future carbon management requirements as early as possible in order to address the net zero carbon emission issue.
In terms of employee care, 5,620 people have participated in the safety education training, 1,549 people have participated in the health promotion activities, occupational welfare expenses exceed NTD 16.45 million. While the profit is growing, We also actively share operation results and hope every employee can pursue self-realization according to one’s talent and skills. In 2022, non-managerial employees’ total salary growth rate was 6.0%, average growth was 5.9%, with a median growth of 3.8%. The total fees invested in educational trainings are NTD 1.39 million, with 11 training hours for each person.

Corporate Sustainable Development／Social Care
The business philosophy of “Delivering Integrity and Equity, Bringing Prosperity and Growth” is the highest guiding principles to the operations of Sinon. Under the joint efforts and perseverance of the management team and all employees, there have been outstanding results in all the aspects in environment, social, governance, and economic. 2022 consolidated revenues was NTD 23 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 23.6%, net profit attributable to owners of parent was NTD 1.65 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 79.2%, and our earnings per share reached NTD 3.92; Won the special honor ranked among the 10% of non-financial or electronic listed and OTC companies with a market value over NTD 10 billion in the Corporate Governance Evaluation for two consecutive years.

In terms of social care, we uphold the spirit of “Take from society, give back to society” and the mission of “good neighborship”, by not only participating in local community services, but also devoting resources to underprivileged care and education. These include providing scholarships and education subsidies for elementary and junior high students in the vicinity of the Company, providing medical aid, and helping with elderly care, to make up for the gap in resources through our efforts.

For the future outlook, we will continue to optimize the quality of corporate management and aside from serving the agriculture in Taiwan based on our position; we will exert our core values supporting the initiatives and promotion of global issues in fulfilling corporate citizen responsibilities. In seek of precision to create benefits for sharing with employees, shareholders, and the society, for joint survival with farmers and for the prosperity of the society, we place our greatest efforts in the pursuit of sustainable operations.
