R&D and Quality Control

The Strict Quality Control System / ISO 9001:2015 quality management system
The Company's design and production of the synthetic pesticide technical, pesticide formulation, and fertilizer of the WANG-TIEN FACTORY Area have passed the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. Under the strict quality control system, the Company abides by the domestic regulations such as the Agro-pesticides Management Act, Fertilizer Management Act and international standards, such as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Thailand's Department of Agriculture (DOA), European Commission (EC) and so on regulations relating to the production and sales of crop protection products. These are the basis for developing quality and safety management.

Product Development Strategies / Sustainable Agriculture and Global Climate Change Trends
Under the sustainable agriculture and global climate change trends, the future product development strategies of the Company are directed toward developing non-register materials, microbial products, and circular economy products. Develop diverse biostimulants products for cultivation use against adversities based on mitigation of warming, the impacts to agriculture from changes to rainfall patterns and so on climate change. The aim is to satisfy various crop cultivation demands.

In terms of pesticides, the goal is to develop pesticide formulations that are of low toxicity, low environmental impacts, convenient to control, safe and effective. Through optimization of quality and improvement of formula for product development, lower the exposure risks of farmers using the pesticides and reduce environmental pollution. Pesticide model priority is mainly based on the liquid pesticide that is convenient for use, such as suspension concentrate (SC), emulsion, oil in water (EW), Capsule suspension (CS) or reduce dust formula, such as water dispersible granules (WG). It can also reduce solvent hazards, and meet the regulatory requirements around the world to develop new solvent formulas using vegetable oils and eco-friendly agents to replace solvents with safety concerns.

In terms of fertilizer development, the goals are friendly to the soil and the environment, high nutrition absorption rate, and convenient to use. The Company researches and develops natural materials such as series of microbial products, including Trichoderma and Azotobacter plant-based products, to increase fertilizer efficiency, and develop products that can reduce the burden to the environment and manpower, such as the slow-release fertilizer products. In addition, in order to response to the government's policy on promoting circular economy, the Company has developed organic fertilizers, which can reduce chemical fertilizer consumption and reduce carbon emissions by increasing organic soil quality.

Product Meets Safety Standards / Pesticide Labeling Management
All the Company's crop nutrition agents (Nitrogen fertilizers, phosphate fertilizers, potassium fertilizers, micro-nutrient fertilizers, compound fertilizers, plant growth supplements, microbial fertilizers, and other fertilizers) passed the national certification at 100%. All our products on the market must be tested for the specifications and contents of the plant nutrition agents by the “Soil Survey and Testing Center of National Chung Hsing University”, an inspection agency approved by the Agriculture and Food Agency of the Council of Agriculture. The testing items include the main product contents (AI) and related physicochemical analysis (pH value, stability, moisture). The products can only be registered for sales use after confirming their conformance to Fertilizer Management Act. Relevant toxicological and environmental safety information of the microbial fertilizers need to be submitted to ensure that they do not have detrimental effects on human health and the environment.

The crop protection agents (Insecticides, fungicides, herbicides) and others must be confirmed of their safety and effects of use in Taiwan. Aside from testing their physicochemical specifications and active ingredients through the “Agricultural Chemicals and Toxic Substances Research Institute” of the Council of Agriculture (COA), relevant test reports on their toxicology and metabolism on plants and en
vironment need to be submitted in accordance with the regulations of the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine, COA. Based on the review results, establish the permissible residue level, suggestions for use methods and so on. They can only be registered for use in Taiwan after they are reviewed and approved for registration in other developed countries.

In response to the pesticides and fertilizers purchase real-name registration system promoted by the government, the Company has built the computer sales management system to implement its execution and to regularly report on relevant information. Through the real-name information provided by the farmers, the product flow can be tracked for management and the reasonableness of the use of the pesticides and fertilizers can be evaluated. The farmers can be assured that the products purchased are legal drugs approved for registration by the government.

The government has introduced the “Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS)” to strengthen the pesticide labeling management and align with international standards. GHS helps to differentiate the characteristics of individual pesticide products to promote CCB management. Every product's brand name, common name, active ingredients, mechanism of action, hazard labels and warnings, methods of use and scope of application shall be disclosed completely in order to enhance the user's understanding of the product. The Company has completed changing the labels of more than 300 products by the end of 2022 to comply with the Pesticide Control Act and the Pesticide Labeling Control Act.

Cultivate Plant Doctors
The Company is in a leading position for the Taiwan crop protectant market. Its technicians have obtained related licenses regulated by the government. Since 2009, Sinon cooperated with National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) to establish the in‑service education program to continue to train personnel to gain a deeper new knowledge and technology applications to better serve the rural areas and farmers. Starting from 2020, training courses are established on friendly environment, microbe development and application, disease diagnosis and treatment, agricultural waste resources R&D and so on themes. An accumulated 273 students are learning the new knowledge since its inception. This stimulates friendly agricultural development, and the fulfilment of the food safety goals.

Crop Professionals

The Company organizes the internal lecturer certification activity once a year, conducting various crop performance evaluation. The contents include plant disease diagnosis, pests appraisal and prevention, soil physiology and so on knowledge. Personnel who pass the performance evaluation will become the seed instructor, responsible for passing on the professional knowledge to other employees and to assist farmers in crop cultivation management. 19 employees were certified as crop professionals in 2022.

Teacher Awards

The Company makes selection for the Teacher Awards each year to publicly commend employees who have made contributions to education. Encourage the employees to share their own successful experiences conveying correct crop cultivation methods and drug use concept to employees, farmers and the public. Under the cycle of teaching and learning, employees achieve the accumulation of knowledge and enhance one's self-worth.
