Flourish Like The Big Tree The Establishment and Success of Sinon After WWII, the rural community was still in ruins, and the economy mired in depression. I was born and raised in a peasant family and studied at an agricultural school. I made use of what I had learned in my youth and embraced all experiences in agriculture. In order to raise the living standard of the farmers and improve the agricultural industry, I deeply felt that the government must raise farmers' income through modern agricultural management practices which will in-turn, directly increase farm production. As a result, I believed that agrochemical was the answer.  It was then that I decided to create a line of business that had a close relationship to agrochemicals. Indeed, time flies. It has already been 45 years since I established Sinon. I have seen life in rural communities steadily improve, and I am overjoyed that my vision has materialized. It is also a blessing to know that the name "Sinon", literally meaning prosperity and agriculture" in Chinese, has lived up to its reputation. I feel gratified that I was able to contribute my efforts to Taiwan. However, when the company was founded, we were on uncharted land and faced many difficulties. Gratefully, our employees devoted endless efforts and uncompromising commitments over the years, and we flourished from a small factory producing one product into a conglomerate with over 10 lines of businesses that are related to the needs of modern society and consumers. These include chemical products, foods, consumer products, ready-mixed concrete products, plastics, and the more recent member, pharmaceuticals. In addition, we have diversified our business to supermarkets, trade, application software, life insurance, and professional baseball. This company has successfully established a large scale and a very diversified enterprise, and with great appreciation for the public's support, we have proven that the management principles, sowing integrity and equality brings upon prosperity and growth is a success. The year 1989 was a significant one. That was when we went public on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, and the management was formally handed over to the next generation. For the past decade, under the supervision of new breed, there is more energy and strength, greater foresight, and better intellectual capabilities. As a result, this company has made outstanding achievements and is confident in the future direction. I want to express my deepest gratitude toward all the people in different business fields who continue to show their generous support and encouragement to the new management team. Lastly, it is this support that will help Sinon to grow even stronger, more successful, and move forward into the future with greater confidence and assurance.
